In this episode, Dr. Logan Levkoff and I talk all things regarding "Talking To Your Youth About Sex"! Dr. Logan Levkoff is an internationally recognized expert on sexuality, parenting, and relationships. For the last two decades, she has designed and implemented sexuality education programs at many NYC private and public schools as well as other organizations all around the country!

With Logan, sex has been a conversation with her kids since birth, there was never a specific time for them to finally know.
Other conversations they had as a family touched on language that gets used in media as well as how to have healthy relationships. There shouldn't be so much fear and pressure revolving around the topic of sex, these are learning opportunities. *Let things happen naturally*

Advice For Parents:

- Remember, there's no such thing as the 'perfect' conversation, it's okay not to know things. --- Listen; for example, "Tell me what safer sex means to you..." "Tell me what makes you think this..."
             "It's a conversation, not a lecture."
- No judgment
- Don't overwhelm them. Sometimes the best option is lots of small conversations.
- Dr. Logan Levkoff says pleasure is an important word to use with our children, talking about pleasure starts early on. Understanding your body,  that certain parts feel good and that they have the right to explore them is an important message to give to them.
"Pleasure can be both physical and emotional."

*It's key for our youth to have outlets, spaces where they can talk about these topics.

- Validate their feelings
, wanting to connect with someone is okay. Their desires are valid.
"Nothing deserves to fall into the category of 'Things we don't talk about'."
*Our youth deserves answers to their questions!
